First Aid,
this book was put together by the Children's Hospital at
Stanford University, one of the most respected pediatric
care facilities in the U.S. What's great about it is the
fact that in 60 pages, it covers just about everything a
babysitter needs to know. What do you do about a stubbed
toe? How about tummy aches? With the book you get a high
quality zippered vinyl pouch full of People Patches (bandaids),
and a lot of good advice.

Some
sitters are concerned about being prepared for any potential
emergency. Making
the Best of Basics: Family Preparedness Handbook
is another must have for families concerned about planning
for disasters. We recommend it for a different reason. What
should a babysitter be thinking about if there's a flood
or an earthquake? Where would the supplies be? During classes,
many sitters ask about what they can do to prepare. This
book is the answer. |
| Really
want the lowdown on making a house safe for kids and toddlers? On
the Safe Side: Your Complete Reference to Childproofing
for Infants and Toddlers a mom has compiled safety
tips from many sources into this one well-organized, easy-to-use
reference book. Each chapter addresses one area of your
home or life ("kitchen," for instance, or "away from home").
Each right-hand page includes, in the margin, a list of
the topics covered on those two pages, so you can thumb
through quickly and find things. Great resource. |
