Answers

How old must I be to take the class? We have no age restriction on taking our course. We recommend our class for 11-17 year olds, and we've had students older who've enjoyed our course. Students should read at a 5th-6th grade level.

How old must I be to babysit? The legal age to babysit is different in every state. Some states have no restrictions at all, others are stricter. We've even seen variations from county to county within states. Please ask your police department or child protective services for the regulations in your area.

What is your refund policy? Our course and product are guaranteed. No fine print. No arguments. We mean exactly what we say. Your satisfaction is GUARANTEED.

If you are not completely satisfied with our Babysitting Course, our Business Kit or our service for any reason, you may return your course materials, Certificate and Kit and we will refund you your full purchase price. If you have not yet completed the class, simply call Customer Service at 800-710-7437, and we will process your refund without delay.

How do students get their personalized certificate and business kit? After you've taken the test and passed it, our program automatically alerts Customer Service to send a personalized Babysitter's Certificate and Business Kit to the name and address given upon class registration.

How long does it take for the certificate and kit to arrive once you finish the class? Once you complete the class, it usually takes approximately 7 to 10 working days for your kit to arrive. If it's been two weeks or more and your kit has not arrived, contact Customer Service at 800-710-7437 so that we can make sure you get your materials.

Do I need a license to babysit? Where do I get that? No one in the United States, not even the Red Cross, offers a license to Babysit. We all offer educational certificates. If you'd like a great class in babysitting, we're here for you!

If you are interested in getting your Child Care license to work in or own a day care center, most states require a certain number of hours of child care education. My registration codes don't work! Your registration number should be five digits, and your verification code should be eight letters, all in lower case. Click on the "REGISTER" button, and enter them into the proper text boxes. DO NOT copy and paste them from the email we sent you - it's possible that you're copying a space or hidden character by accident and that invalidates the registration information. Type them manually into the text boxes.

When you enter those correctly, you will be taken to a page where you will enter the name of the student, and the student's mailing address. After confirming that information, the student will be registered. At that time, the Registration Number becomes the User Name, and the Verification Code becomes the Password for this account. These cannot be changed.

I am clicking on "Register" and my registration number doesn't work? If you cut and pasted the number from the email we sent you, please close your web browsing program, then re-launch it and go back to the front page, www.babysittingclass.com. Click on "REGISTER" and type the number into the top text box. Enter the Verification Code under that, and click NEXT.

I am clicking on "Start Class" and my registration number doesn't work? You must register for the class before you can begin classes. Please go to the "REGISTER" button on any page of our site and click on it. Once you register, your Registration number becomes your user name, and your Verification Code becomes your password.

When I fill out the credit card information, whose name should I use? Mine or the student's? Please enter the name on the credit card, and the billing address for the card. After the class is paid for, registration information will be issued that will allow the student to register using their own name and mailing information.

On my browser, when I click START CLASS or REGISTER the entry box says Username and Passcode. Where do I fill in the Registration number and Verification Code I got from your e-mail? Please input your registration number where it says "Username". Please input your verification code where it says "Password". Unfortunately, these are standard on browsers and we have no way of changing these boxes to match our system. We're sorry for any confusion. Please note that this will not work until you've clicked on REGISTER and entered your information.

I paid, but I clicked past the page that had my entry codes on it when I signed up. Then I didn't get an e-mail back. What happened? What do I do next? If there's a typo in the e-mail address you entered, your e-mail box is full, or our email was stopped by a spam filter at your ISP, we won't be able to send you a passcode. Please contact us here at Customer Service via e-mail at customerservice@babysittingclass.com. We ask for you to write us via e-mail so we'll have a correct address for you. Give us your first and last name, and how you signed up (credit or mail). We'll look up your record and re-send you the information. You may also call us at our toll-free number, 800-710-7437.

Help! I signed up and I didn't get a passcode! Usually the problem is a typo in the email address that you entered, or your email inbox is full so we can't send you your passcode, or the email address has a parental control or spam filter on it that doesn't allow mail from us. Please send an email to customerservice@babysittingclass.com. Include your phone number so we can contact you if we have a question. You may also call us at our toll-free number, 800-710-7437.

I checked out by mail order. When will my passcodes come? If you check out by mail order, you should print out the "Invoice" page and mail it to us with your payment, using a personal check or money order. When we receive your order and payment, an email will be sent with your passcodes. Please allow two weeks for receipt of the order and processing. If more than two weeks have passed and you have not received your passcodes, please call Customer Service at 800-710-7437.

What credit cards do you accept? We accept VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. We DO NOT accept gift cards of any kind.

How do I take this class? This class is entirely online. It all happens right here, on your computer. There are no books to buy, no extras to order. Once you purchase the class, and register, you can start right away. As long as you've got a computer, and an internet connection, you can take this class anywhere in the world.

What is the order of the class? Please go through chapters 1-6 in order, beginning with Chapter 1, Planning Prevents Problems, and ending with 6, Beyond Babysitting. Be sure to take the quizzes and the Chapter Tests for each class in order. They're a fun way to master the material. You must take and pass each Chapter Test in order (Chapters 1-6) to take the Final Test.

How long does the class take? The average student should be able to do each chapter in about one hour. There are six chapters, so it takes about six hours total.

Do I have to look at all the chapters in one sitting? No, students can leave each chapter and come back to it whenever their schedule allows. You can go as slow or as fast as you like.

How long are my passcodes good for? Your passcodes are good for one year from the day that you register. To renew the passcodes, you must purchase a new class.

What if students miss questions on the quizzes and test? Our quizzes and Chapter Tests are stress free because if a student misses a question, they get immediate feedback about what to study. Our instructor is also available by telephone M-F from 1-5 PST to help students who have any questions about the material . Students have one year from registration to review each topic and take our tests as many times as they need to pass. There is no charge for the re-testing.

What software does the class require for the best experience? This class was developed on and optimized for Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher. It will also run well in Internet Explorer 6.0 or above. Firefox 3.0 or above will function properly as long as Javascript is enabled. The class will run in Safari, although some quizzes may not function fully. In that case, simply make sure the student knows the material and skip the quiz. Quizzes are not scored, and are not part of the grade for the class.

Do you offer special rates for Groups? Yes. We offer a 30% discount (12.50 per student) to anyone who buys five or more memberships at one time. We also give away a free leader's pass for each set of group memberships sold. This pass allows the leader to access each students records and track their progress on our web site.
